“Humble in our aspirations, gracious in our success, resilient in our failures.”
This is one of those books that stayed on my digital bookshelf for years from an author who didn’t always earn the much-coveted ‘best seller’s list’ badge on each of his 14 published books.
I don’t think anyone talks about ego quite as plainly and sobering as this book - it’s an easy, compelling read that feels more like a long honest conversation. From George Washington to Alexander the Great to Malcolm X, the book also uses many personas to illustrate how egotistical behaviors (or lack of) often led to the success or failure of many of the world's greatest people.
“Most successful people are people you’ve never heard of. They want it that way. It keeps them sober. It helps them do their jobs.”
Anyone else read this book? It’s a gem and I’d be happy to hear reactions from anyone else who’s read it
